Hello there!
I am glad that you are here. I am Dr. Andrea Wieland (aka Dr. A), the Health and Wealth doctor. I am trained as psychologist and have been interested in health, wellness, optimal living and best and peak performances my whole life. As an Olympian, and entrepreneur, I have a passion for helping others re-discover their best, whole and perfect self. Two elements that seem to create great stress for many people are their (1) financial situation and (2) whole-body health (mind, body emotions). These are the elements upon which I will focus in the Zen Health Wealth blog.
I believe that Two Keys to Happiness are health and wealth. How each of those constructs is defined is different for everyone. For me, if you are sick, depressed, anxious, tired, fatigued, or in pain, it’s difficult to be as optimally happy as you could be if you were free of those ailments. Often times we are distracted by these ailments, spending time, energy and resources to correct them. If we are free from them, how else would we be investing our time and resources? Hopefully, the answer is to be of benefit (to yourself and others)!
So health is foundational for good relationships, contributing to society, fulfilling your purpose, all of which impact the quality of your life and happiness. I’m not saying you cannot be happy if you are in pain, sick, not fulfilling your purpose, not contributing. It is possible. You might be in denial or “ignore-ant” of certain aspects of your life, or maybe not. There’s no judgment here. You need to decide for yourself how you define happiness, from where it arises, and what contributes to your happiness. It seems to me that most people would agree that happiness goes hand in hand with quality and meaningfulness of life, and being completely at ease with everything that is arising, no matter what. I can show you how to achieve mental, physical and emotional well-being.
The second key to happiness is wealth. Now, don’t get all up in arms and call me a materialist. Again, each person defines wealth differently. How much is enough, and how much is an abundance is different for everyone. For me, wealth is about having time and financial freedom to do what you want, contribute to the betterment of society, and again, live a meaningful, on purpose life. This may mean feeding the hungry, having the time to mentor a child, or fulfilling your passion to teach without concern of what the paycheck is.
People can mistake and associate wealth only with fancy cars, houses, boats, expensive jewelry, sipping fruity drinks in Bora Bora, etc. That is fine. But it’s a limited perspective! There are plenty of wealthy people who are miserable on the inside. Full wealth to me is defined as time and financial freedom with a purpose and meaningful direction.
